1/144 Scammell Pioneer 23/52

Some years ago I bought some models from Graham Models from the UK. They have some very interesting models on the list. But I have to say, the quality was not that good. A lot of small holes forced me to work a lot with filler. Over the last months then I bought unpainted, unassembled kits from Hong Kong, the seller has different Ebay accounts but I am pretty sure, at the end it is all Panzer Depot.
So today I will show you pictures from both versions of the Scammell Pioneer. Honestly I do not like them both, with a small advantage of the model from Graham Models. But check and decide for yourself.

The green one is from Graham Models and the Wehrmacht grey painted version is from Ebay / Panzer Depot.

new 1/144 tank models from an 3D producer on Ebay 22/52

Yesterday evening I checked Ebay for some interesting offers in the scale 1/144. So I was surprised to find more than 30 new models all in 1/144 for sale. They all come from the US, shipping is not so cheap, but some of them are really interesting variants.
The bad point, the quality is not that good, it is not a high end 3D printer, and the seller says it too: produced for wargaming. So if you look for some interesting models for am acceptable price, check this seller: ebay-seller

and here some of the highlights:

1/144 German Jagdpanther

1/144 German Famo

1/144 GMC 2.5 ton truck

1/144 German Tiger

1/144 Sherman Dozer

1/144 GMC water truck

1/144 German Panzer IV with 8.8 Flak

Mutzig, the first modern Bunker, or Feste Wilhelm II 21/52

Last weekend we drove to a wedding in France. During driving in direction of Strasbourg we passed Mutzig a small town here in Elsass. By passing by, it reminded me that I have the best German Bunker close in my Neighbourhood. No kidding, but the most important Bunker of Europe is in Mutzig.
But why is this Bunker so important?

In Mutzig the Germans built for the first time a fortification with the modern (at that time) reinforced concrete. Instead of walls only concrete and steel. Today you can see the difference, the fortification still looks good, the guns are a bit rusty but that's all. Definitely a trip worth!

Only one remark, inside it is wet, cold and dark, so better do not visit it with shorts and flip flops :-)

One last comment, the fortification was built by the Germans in the year 1893 while Germany had Wilhelm II as emperor. At that time the Elsass was German territory, even we had close by two World wars, the fortification never saw any action.

1/144 Marinefährprahm and Artilleriefährprahm 20/52

Finally I finished working on the two German landing crafts. At the moment I have to clean up my desk and then I will go back to some tanks and other long time projects.
The first video shows the Marinefährprahm Type D in the standard version, later they got more and more weapons.

The second video shows the Artilleriefährprahm, Type D but this time I painted it in a 3 tone camouflage as used in Norway.
Sorry that the video is not that clear. I will replace it in the next days with a better version.

1/144 Sanitätsbunker German Hospital at the Atlantic wall 19/52

The Germans built thousands of Bunkers during WWII. As the Germans are very pedantic, they created lists of bunkers for different use. These Regelbauten had nearly any type of Bunker on the list. Even Bunkers to provide water were planed. Besides these exotic types, there were more practical and useful types. One type I liked so much, that I built it. It is the Regelbau 639, grosser Sanitätsunterstand, a field hospital. Many of them were on the Atlantic wall in France.

Here you find some nice pictures of a Sanitätsunterstand  R 639

The model was built on a kitchen plate we had left. The front is a MDF part, which I cut to the correct dimensions and painted with Grey colour. The rest are Standard parts which you could get everywhere. All vehicles are from my 3D collection. Most of them you can buy at Shapeways.
