My new 1/144 Artilleryfährprahm with 3 tone camouflage 13/52

While I painted my first Artilleriefährpram in dark gey, I wanted to get it done asap, so for the sales Version I had to add some improvements to my prototype.
Just an example, I added a wooden floor to several areas and added some more stuff like ladders and rescue boats.
So with all these changes I ordered a new version for myself. After some weeks in my shelf, I started this week with painting it. So the same question raised again, which colour do you want?
The answer I found here: http://www.modellversium.de/kit/artikel.php?id=838

There you can find guidance to several painting schemas. I decided to go with the version the Kriegsmarine used in Norway.

So far, so good, here you can see my results after nearly one evening painting. Still a lot to do but I come closer. In the next days I will continue painting and will add the first equipment. Maybe I will find this time a crew, taff enough to hire on my small Artilleriefährprahm.

To get an Imagination about a real one, here you can find an old Picture of an Artilleriefährprahm. I believe it is a type D, but 100% sure I am not.

Still the best source for a lot of Information and good Pictures is this German site: Forum Marinearchiv click on the Header Grafiken and you will find tons of Information and scetches.

Soon I will present my next prototype, the marinefährprahm type D but as a standard transport type and a surprise.

Launch tower for the Bachem Natter 12/52

Today I was surprised to see, that you can buy again some older sets from the Asian company Fox one. Teh reproduce the two launch towers for the Bachem Natter.
At the beginning the Germans worked with an wooden design to start the Natter.

Later they came up with the steel frame tower which was installed close to Stuttgart in Germany.
Several of these launch towers should be installed to allow a constant start of Natters, but the end of the war came much faster.
So here is the second set with the steel frame tower:

Both sets can you order online, for example from here:

NSU Springer in 1/144 part two 11/52

The design for the small tank is done and everything optimized for the frosted Detail material as the standard white material would not allow all the fine Details it needs here.
Here are some pictures of the printed / painted models.

Below you can find some more Facts about this "tank". As many last minute projects it was not very successful.

1/144 work in progress new models and new dioramas

At the moment I try to finish several stuff parallel. So between paining the tanks, trailers and others, I design new stuff. I would like to place my next order as an Eastern gift for me. But at the moment the latest design still has too much errors and holes. So as Shapeways said, your design needs a bit more love.
So while I keep you waiting I will show you some of my ongoing projects.

At the moment I build a small diorama in 1/144 for my brand new Flak. Here the work is mostly done, but I would like to add a second scenery to this diorama.
I will take the same base but would like to show a winter scenery. The Flak will be the same, the 5 cm Flak will be published soon I only need to correct some small mistakes.

My second project at the moment is a ship again. But this type of ship is even less known as the Marinefährprahm or the Artilleriefährprahm. It is called Infanterietransporter. Developed from the Siebel group, the same team of constructors who had the idea for the Siebel Ferries. More details can be found here: http://historisches-marinearchiv.de/projekte/landungsfahrzeuge/infanterietransporter/beschreibung.php

And here are the original pictures from the finish archive: click me

There are several wonderful pictures from some Infranterietransporters, used by the German Navy in Finland during WWII.

A second and third version are on the way, so I have to think about a small scene in a harbour.

Miag 5000 a new 1/144 crane for German Wunderwaffen 09/52

There were several last chance weapons, they all had in common, they would win the war. More or less. Most of them were different types of rockets. With one of them I saw a very interesting crane. After some hours of research, I had all I needed to design it. And here is my new Luftwaffe crane for all Wunderwaffen Abteilungen. Maybe one or two Wunderwaffen will follow in the next weeks. Let`s see. The crane is a Miag K 5000 from a small German factory. The Miag was used by the Luftwaffe and then later by several Trials for the German Wunderwaffe Tests.

For painting you can use any dark grey colour.

By the way, while I was looking for dimensions and other helpful stuff for the Miag K 5000, the Company still existists and builds cranes and fork lifters.
